The Arab League have appointed the Egyptian pop star Tamer Hosny as its ambassador regarding blood donation services, in a big ceremony that took place Sunday at the league's headquarters, in the presence of its vice president and the Egyptian health minister.

The league gave the title to Hosny due to his numerous humanistic initiatives in Egypt and other Arab countries, including him launching medical aid campaigns to Palestinian, Iraqi, Egyptian, Syrian and Lybian victims of wars, revolutions and violence, and always informing his fans about the importance of blood donation.

And by studying the impacts of his activism, it was obvious that Hosny had the biggest effective fan base in the Middle East. In his speech during the celebration, he made an open call for blood donation around the world and asked the audience to spread the word.
