Netflix has dropped the official trailer and first-look images featuring Florence Pugh, Mike Faist, and Christopher Abbott from the highly anticipated limited series East of Eden, scheduled to premiere exclusively on the platform on October 1.
Based on John Steinbeck’s classic 1952 novel, the series is set against the backdrop of California's Salinas Valley farmland. It follows the intertwined fates of generations across the Trask and Hamilton families, reimagining the tragic, inexorable tale of Cain and Abel.
Adapted for television by writer Zoe Kazan over a six-year development process, the seven-episode series features episodes directed by Garth Davis (four episodes) and Laure de Clermont-Tonnerre (three episodes). Filmed over six months in New Zealand, this production marks the third screen adaptation of Steinbeck’s masterpiece, following the 1955 film and the 1981 miniseries.
