A man named Siyah lives in a harsh, remote area in southern Syria called Al Lajat. After losing his brother, Siyah raises his niece Salma alone. Salma dreams of freedom and love, but her strict culture rejects her boldness. She loves Abdel Karim, a young man, and seeks to elope with him, but society forbids it. Her tragic ending reflects injustice and oppressive practices.
