The play centers on a group of beggars living in miserable conditions who share an abandoned theater as their shelter. Suddenly, they are pursued by security forces because of their activities, so they resort to a clever trick: they tell the officer that they are a theater troupe coming for a rehearsal, and he believes them, granting them a reprieve.
