Jihad is preparing to immigrate with his wife Sahar to America, and the latter sells all their household items. An argument breaks out between them because Jihad objects to that, and while they are heading to the airport, Jihad is forced to return because his mother dies in the hospital.
Jihad insists on holding a funeral for his mother. Sahar and Jihad's sister, Farah, argue. Abdul Baqi, Jihad's mother's widower, advises selling the house and dividing the inheritance, but her will says otherwise. A decision bans Iraqi immigration to America.
Abdul Baqi proposes to the teenage girl Shaimaa, and when her parents agree, she threatens to commit suicide and runs away from home. A quarrel breaks out between Jihad and Sahar, and the latter asks for a divorce.
Jihad returns to his family home after divorcing Sahar. Anas promises Sahar to help her obtain a visa to travel to America and tries to harass her.
Anas apologizes to Sahar for what he did to her. The latter completes her travel papers and meets Jihad, who asks her to return to him and travel with her, but she does not agree.
Sahar leaves the airport so she won't be arrested when she learns that the passport is forged. She demands that Anas return her money or else she will tell his wife Marwa about his harassment of her. She tries to seek help from Jihad. Abdul Baqi marries Shaimaa, and Sahar discovers her pregnancy.
Sahar remembers her mother's death on the day she gave birth to her younger brother, thinks about illegal immigration and worries about her pregnancy. Jihad returns to work at the hospital, and it is difficult to sell Jihad's family home because it is an antiquity.
Jihad's sister agrees with Abdul Baqi to burn the house without Jihad's knowledge, and the police arrest Suha and Walid and accuse them of trading in banned drugs
Jihad quarrels with one of the patients' relatives at the hospital, and the police arrest him. Soha resorts to Marwa to borrow money to support her son after her money was stolen.

Sahar seeks Jihad's help to search for Saif with her. A patient dies in the hospital, so his family beats Jihad, blaming him for his death.
Jihad is forced to use his car to drive people around as an extra job. He meets Abu Jamal, and the latter's bag of money is stolen. The autism conference that Sahar is preparing fails.
Jihad tries to contact Jamal after his father is taken to the hospital, but he denies knowing him. Abu Jamal dies, Suha's innocence is proven, and Walid quarrels with her and decides to divorce her. Then, Sahar asks Jihad to return to him.
Walid divorces his wife, and Marwa invites Sahar and Jihad to celebrate their remarriage. Marwa quarrels with Anas and accuses him of infediltiy. Then, when Trump issues a decision allowing Iraqis to travel to America, Jihad seriously considers the matter.
Suha is saddened by Walid's divorce and blames her sister Sahar for not telling her about it. Abdul Qader burns down the house with Sahar inside, but she is saved. Jihad convinces Sahar to travel to America.
