The play revolves around slaves working in a wealthy man's castle under harsh conditions, striving for freedom. A love story develops between one of the slaves and Tijan, who tries to free him with the help of Al Khoud, the wife of the castle owner. Surprisingly, however, the slave is Al Khoud's first husband, whom she thought had drowned. She finds herself in a conflict between her current and newly returned husband.
