American author and screenwriter, who was born on February 20, 1926 in Allendale, New Jersey, USA to immigrant parents from Norway. He joined the army in World War II and earned a BA in Journalism from the University of Missouri. His writings are mostly in fantasy, horror and science fiction genres. He rose to fame as he presented numrous novels and short stories, many of which were adapted into films and series, such as Twilight Zone: The Movie (1983), Duel (1971), and I Am Legend (2007). He died on June 23, 2013 in California, USA. |
