An Italian writer and director, born in San Miniato, Italy. He studied liberal arts at the University of Pisa, Italy. He wrote and directed short films and plays with his brother, Vittorio Taviani. They made many films together, such as A Man for Burning (1962), Outlaws of Love (1963), and Under the Sign of Scorpio (1969). He died in Rome, Italy.
