An American production designer, art director, and actor, born on March 17, 1915 in Ontario, California. He won two Academy Awards for Best Art Direction-Set Decoration in 1963 and 1974 for To Kill a Mockingbird (1962), and The Sting (1973). His work include Vertigo, Mystic River, and Flags of Our Fathers.
