A Syrian-American artist, born in 1942 in Damascus. She was educated in Beirut and Paris and studied philosophy at the Sorbonne University. She returned to Beirut in 1969 and began her career as a painter. She then moved to California, where she founded a publishing house, and she returned to visual arts in 1988, creating different types of art, including sculpture, watercolors, paintings, and collages. She later moved to Paris. In 2017, she was nominated for the AWARE Prize for Women Artists. She directed Autoportrait (2012).
