A Turkish director and screenwriter, born in Istanbul in 1975. He graduated from Bilkent University, Department of Archeology, and worked in commercials and television series before he started working in cinema with the help of Fatih Akın and Yeşim Ustaoğlu. He was an assistant director in the movies The Edge of Heaven (2007) and Takva: A Man's Fear of God (2006). He won the Golden Orange Award for Best Director for Çogunluk (2010).
