A Canadian lawyer and politician, born in Montreal, Canada. He was the 15th prime minister of Canada from 1968 to 1979 and from 1980 to 1984. He was also the leader of the Opposition from 1979 to 1980. He earned a degree in law from the Université de Montréal. He appeared as himself in various works, most notably Jusqu'au cou (1964), Formule Villeneuve (1983), and Le Québec est au monde (1979). He died on September 28, 2000, in Montréal, Québec, Canada, of prostate cancer.
