Foxx, 45, is a true jack-of-all-trades, entertainment-wise. Stand-up comedian, singer-songwriter, pianist, radio host and star of his own sitcom in the 1990s, he also won an Oscar in 2005 for his incredible portrayal of Ray Charles in " Ray." In a statement about the award, MTV president Stephen Friedman said, "Foxx is a triple threat superstar unlike any we've seen in a long time." Wildcard-boxer-turned-actor Mike Tyson had kind words for the " Django Unchained" star, who is lined up to play Tyson in an upcoming biopic. He told MTV News, "He put in the work. Once he got the credit for 'Ray,' that just gave him the key to the world. And, he deserves everything he got. It's not like he's some overnight sensation. This game doesn't come easy and he achieved great stardom." Previous recipients include Johnny Depp, Sandra Bullock, Tom Cruise and Reese Witherspoon.
