Mohamed Reggab was born in 1942 in Safi, and completed his school studies in Casablanca, where he obtained a baccalaureate degree in science in 1960, then began studying cinema in 1961 at the "Vaugerard" school in Paris, which he left after spending one year there. He joined the Public Higher School of Cinema in the former Soviet Union, and graduated from it in 1964 with a specialization in photography, the same year he began studying psychology at the Free University in Brussels. In 1967, he joined Moroccan radio and television.
