An Egyptian director and writer, who joined Studio Masr in 1935 and worked in his beginnings as an assistant director in a number of works, including Young Dreams (1942). He decided to start working as an independent writer and director in the 1940s. He had his debut in the movie, Gypsy Town (1945), which he wrote and directed. He is known for Women Can't Lie (1954) and A Husband on Vacation (1964). He died in 2002.
