An Egyptian poet and music composer who was born in Cairo in 1924. He graduated from the Faculty of Law and obtained a diploma in Islamic law. He began his career in the 1940s by writing songs and poems which were sung by renowned singers, such as Abdel Wahab and Umm Kulthum. In the 1970s, he started writing Sufi poems and religious songs for Abdel Halim and Shiekh Naqshabandy. He received an award for best screenplay and songs for the series, Muhammad the Messenger of Allah. Moreover, Mostafa received the Naguib Mahfouz Prize for Literature.
