Egyptian cinematographer born in Abdeen, Cairo in 1943. He joined the Faculty of Arts, Cairo University then dropped out after three years to join the High Cinema Institute. He also remotely took a diploma in cinematography from the US in 1969. Some of his most notable works include The Bullet is Still in My Pocket, Antar Holding His Sword, The Shame, The Emperor, The Road to Eilat, and Devil's Island.
