He is an Egyptian writer born on March 28, 1928 in Cairo. He graduated from the Faculty of Arts at Cairo University in 1951 and worked as a teacher for a short period, then moved to work in radio, yet he was fired from it at the beginning of the seventies. He has fifty-four published books distributed between literary and critical studies, popular literature, short stories, novels, theater, word literature, travel literature and children’s literature. He worked in art direction, and his films include The Bus Driver, Sunstroke, and My Father Is Above the Tree.
