An Iraqi musician and oud player, who is considered one of the most famous oud players in the Arab world. He was born in the city of Kut in Iraq in 1963. He graduated from the Baghdad Institute of Music in 1987. He taught at the Institute for three years. He performed his first...Read more solo concerts in Iraq early on, the most famous of which was the concert that was held at Orfali Hall in Baghdad in 1985, which was followed by a large number of concerts in the Arab world and Europe. During a musical career spanning more than thirty years, he collaborated with a number of Western musicians. He also scored many films, such as Lost Souls, and Dawn of a Sad Day (1986), as well as the series Night Wolves, and Asayel. In 1994, he released his debut CD, Oriental Love Story, which was followed by several others, including Shining (1996), and Before I Get Crucified (1997). He received a number of honors, including the Best Arab Musician Award at the 1988 Jerash Festival in Jordan.
