Hamza El Shimy is an Egyptian actor. He was born in 1939, and graduated from the Cairo University's faculty of law in 1968. He worked in several national theaters following his graduation, including the Television Theater, the National Theater, and the Modern Theater, and co-starred in many plays, including “Kafr Abu Mgahed”, “Elbelyatsho” (The Clown), “Dayret el Tabashir Alquqazeya” (An Egyptian rendition of Bertold Brecht's epic “Caucasian Chalk Circle”). El Shimy also worked in television series, which were mostly historical or religious, including “Muhamma Rasul Allah” (Muhammad, Prophet of God), “Adham El Sharqawy”, “Almalek Faruq” (King Farouk), “Alqadaa fil Islam” (Judiciary in Islam). He died in 2014 from blood poisoning.
