He was an Egyptian actor, who began his artistic career as a poet and writer. He worked at first on the British radio in 1950, then he moved to Cairo radio in 1973. His acting debut was in the 1961 movie Message to God. He appeared in series in the Gulf countries and also worked in Tunisia, Germany and Britain. He also published his poetry collections. His notable work include Soft Hands (1963), Umm Kulthum (1999), and Who Doesn't Love Fatma? (1996). He passed away in 2008.
