Jonathan Liebsman is a South African director and writer. He was born in 1976 in the city of Johannesburg. While studying, Jonathan co-wrote and directed an 8-minute short film, Genesis and Catastrophe, adapted from a Roald Dahl short story. The film was screened at numerous festivals around the world, and was winner of the best short at the Austin Film Festival in 2000. In 2003, Liebsman directed his debut feature “Darkness Falls”. He then went on to direct several films, and became most known for directing the 2011 military science fiction war film “Battle: Los Angeles”, “Wrath of the Titans” (2012) and “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” (2014).
