Biography

An Egyptian actor, director and screenwriter, born in Gharbia in 1910. His family moved to Cairo two months after his birth. His artistic life began at the school theater. He studied at the American University in Cairo, worked in the Ramses Theater, and then worked in Studio Misr...Read more after its establishment. He was mentored by director Niazi Mustafa, who at that time headed the studio's editing department, and worked as his assistant in Mr. Omar, and The Wives Factory (1941). He made his directorial debut in the movie Women Are in Danger, after which he worked on many productions, most notably: The Seventh Wife, and Melody of Devotion. He wrote the screenplays for many movies, such as : Reckless, and Confused Hearts. He also participated in acting in the play Laila's Madman (1961). He worked in Kuwait in 1962, and remained there for three years. He died in 1972 at the age of 62.
