An Iraqi actor, who made his debut on stage in 1934 in school plays. He joined the Institute of Fine Arts in Baghdad and graduated from it in 1945 and was among its first class. Then he traveled to the United States of America to obtain a master's degree in theater directing from The Art Institute in Chicago. He directed many theatrical works, most notably the play Julius Caesar, and Blood Wedding, and then turned to acting and participated in dozens of works, most notably King Ghazi, and in 2005, moments before the opening of the Iraqi Intellectuals Conference, he suffered a sudden heart attack and passed away.
