An Egyptian actress, born in Cairo on July 5, 1912, to an Egyptian father of Greek descent and a French mother. Samira began her acting career playing small roles, then she began to play leading roles, starring opposite singer Mohamed Abdel Wahab in his first film, The White Rose (1932). She also formed with him a successful duo in the forties, as they starred in several films. In 1946, after her film The Return of the Convoy, she decided to retire and devote herself to her family, until she died in 1981.
