An Egyptian director and screenwriter, born on January 11, 1914. He started his career as a critic for Al-Ahram newspaper. He traveled to America to study psychology and advertising. His first film as a screenwriter was Shore of Love (1950), which he co-wrote with Ali El Zorkani. Among his films are The River of Love, and Prince of Cunningness. He traveled to Lebanon in 1960 and directed a number of films there, including Funny Thief. His directorial debut was the film Life Is Too Short. He moved between Lebanon and Egypt and wrote the scripts for many films. He died on January 11, 1974, of a heart attack.
