An Egyptian writer, born on September 1, 1915, in Sharqia Governorate. He obtained the baccalaureate and was the secretary of the Society of Writers and Composers starting from 1945, until his death. He wrote many poems, including Longings, and We've Met. He also wrote the...Read more Sudanese national anthem, as well as more than two thousand songs, including the song You Are a New Inspiration, and the poem The Spring of a Poet, sung by Abdel Halim Hafez. His poetry collections include The Beach of Memories, and The Melody of Eternity, while his prose books include Anthems with a History and Ramadan Arts. He served as editor on several television programs, including 30 episodes on Abdel Wahab, and Whispers of the Night. He wrote songs for several films, including Abo El-Dahab, and Aziza. He died on August 10, 1992.
