Abdul Hakeem Abdul Samad Kaamel is an Egyptian folk singer who was born on 1962 in Maghaaga – Menya (Upper Egypt). Hakeem started his career at the age of ten through his school concerts in his hometown and became famous there. At the high school age, he traveled to Cairo searching for a real singing opportunity; he was performing in nightclubs and wedding ceremonies and started to become famous in this domain. His father tried to convince him quitting the singing career but Hakeem’s music passion made the father change his mind. 1989, Hakeem met singer-composer Hameed al-Shaa’ery, who presented him to a production company that launched his first album “Nazra i.e. A glimpse” making a great success.
