He was born on July 20, 1946, and he lived since his childhood in Shubra until he graduated from high school, then joined the Faculty of Arts, Department of Philosophical and Social Studies, Alexandria University, where he graduated in 1966. He wrote his first TV drama A View in 1974, then his television works continued, after which he moved to films. His feature debut as a writer was Al'aqmar directed by Hisham Abu Al-Nasr.
