He spent years working for the Lebanese Postal Authority until he was discovered by The Rahbani brothers and Halim Al Roumi. He then began his singing career and sang many songs by many renowned composers including Filmon Wahbi. He formed a duet with Fairouz when he joined the Rahbani musical theater group in 1961. He separated from them, however, in 1978 after a stage production of Petra. He continued on with his solo career, composing and writing some of his songs. He married Yousra Al Daouk in 1956 and they had 6 children.
