An Iraqi actor, born in Basra, in 1956. After he finished his primary and secondary studies in Basra, he moved to Baghdad, and joined the College of Fine Arts, Department of Theater, where he graduated top of his class in theater directing. After completing his postgraduate studies in 1982, he was appointed to the Department of Film and Theater to work with the National Acting Troupe. He also worked as a teacher of acting and directing at the College of Fine Arts at the University of Baghdad, in addition to his work in the Drama Department of Iraqi TV. He wrote, acted in and directed more than thirty plays, and presented many television series. He resided in the UAE, where he continued to work in the theatrical field and held the position of editor-in-chief of the theatrical magazine Kawalis. He participated in many Arab and international theater festivals and won appreciation awards. He wrote children's plays, including Noor and the Enchanted Well. Among his theatrical works is the play Oil Slick, with which he participated in the Amman Theater Days Festival.
