An Egyptian actress, born in 1901. She worked in the early years of her life with Naguib el-Rihani's troupe, then joined Ali Al-Kassar's troupe and became the star of the band's shows for years. She also worked in cinema since the mid-thirties, and was famous for performing the characters of the wife or the cruel mother-in-law. Her most famous films are: Lend Me 3 Pounds, Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves, and The Night of the Wedding. She died in 1970.
