A Syrian director, born in Damascus in 1944. He graduated from the Cairo Film Institute in 1970. In the early 70s, he worked at the General Film Organization and completed a number of documentaries and feature films. He taught film at the Arab Broadcasting Union for a while. His film The Fifth Castle won the Silver Award at the Damascus Film Festival in 1979.
