An Egyptian director who excelled in action films, born in 1940 in Cairo. Upon his graduation from the Higher Institute of Cinema in 1982, directing department, he worked as an assistant with major directors, including Salah Abu Seif, Niazi Mustafa and Hossam El Din Mostafa. He directed 12 films, including, The Old Man and the Bully and The Gypsies. He died at the age of 79 on August 12, 2018 after a long struggle with illness.
