An Egyptian writer, who graduated from Cairo University in 1960, then worked in Dar Al-Hilal Press Foundation, after which he worked in the Ministry of Culture, and during this period he wrote in several periodicals, including Al Adab, Al Masaa, Al Gomhuria, Al Ahram, and others. He published a number of literary works, including The Search for the Unknown, Four Seasons of Winter, and The Eighth Day. He wrote many television series, the most important of which are Umm Kulthum, and The Halawani Gate, and many films, such as Nasser 56, and Halim.
