The captain of Egypt, Zamalek and the military team in the 40s and 50s, Hanafi Bastan, was born in Sayeda Zeinab, Cairo, in 1922. After he retired from football in 1958, he went to coaching. In 1964, his real beginning in acting came when he appeared in the movie Talk of the City and then Goodbye Forever in 1976. Hanafi died in 1995 at the age of 73.
