Omar Wasfy was a theater actor, film director and singer. He was one of the most important representatives of the Qabbani Troupe in its last tenure. He grew up in a religious environment, and sang many songs of a religious nature. He founded four theatre troupes, most notably with Sheikh Sayed Darwish in 1921. He worked as a main actor and artistic director for many theater groups and played many roles for a group of plays, including: The Thief of Baghdad, Hassan Bey, and Ali Baba. He directed many works for the theater, such as: The Secret of the Suicide. He had direct cinematic experiences for several films, including: The Nile's Daughter, and Aziza Amir.
