Born Shafiq Jalal Abdullah Hussein Fath El Bab in Al-Darb Al-Ahmar. He worked in many professions, including a shoemaker, then turned to singing at weddings, and he toured across the provinces, and sang Bedouin songs in films. His songs include “Sheikh of El Balad,” “Imran and Bahana,” and “The Girl from Bahri.” He did not shine in the cinema except at the hands of Hassan al-Imam.
