An iconic Egyptian singer who she started singing as a little girl with her father on birthdays and weddings, and in 1922 she moved to Cairo, and formed her first musical charter in 1926. Her starting point was when she got to know the poet Ahmed Rami and then the composer Mohamed Al Qasabgy. She joined the Egyptian radio when it was established in 1934. She appeared in several films in the 30s and 40s, the last of which was Fatima in 1947, to devote herself to singing only. The sixties is considered one of the most prominent artistic periods for Umm Kulthum, as she released many successful songs, including You Are My Life and The Ruins. Her artistic production began to decline in the 70s due to her suffering from kidney infection, as she traveled to London for treatment, until she passed away on February 3, 1975.
