Feras Dehny was born in Damascus in 1965. He is the son of the well-known filmmaker and writer Salah Dehny. He made his debut in the movie Heroes Are Born Twice, directed by his father. In 1986 he joined the Higher Institute of Film and Television in Potsdam in Germany to study television and theater directing. He returned to Syria in 1993 and worked as a director in the Television Production Directorate at the General Authority for Radio and Television. - In July 2002, he assumed the position of Head of Directors Department in the Technical Production Directorate at the Public Authority for Radio and Television. He teaches at the Higher Institute of Dramatic Arts for students of the Acting Department. He lectures at the Radio and Television Training Center. He has participated in more than forty international and Arab film and television festivals.
