A late Egyptian singer and musician, who was born in Cairo in 1926. He lost his sight at an early age. He turned to memorizing the Holy Qur’an and performing the call to prayer in mosques. He enriched the artistic musical life by composing the music of many diverse works of art, as in the film The Bravest Man in the World, and the play Extra Sugar.
