An Egyptian screenwriter who was born on September 29, 1955, Cairo. He studied medicine and surgery at Ain Shams University, and obtained his BA in 1982. He is a director and writer, and he has many works of art that carry new visions. Among them are the TV series A Man in the Time of Globalization, A Window on the World, and Moon 14. He also wrote the script for several films, including The Gentle, and Rendez-vous. He wrote and directed the movie El Fajoumi: Ahmed Fouad Negm, which tells the life story of the Egyptian poet Ahmed Fouad Negm. In 2011, Al Shammaa was elected as Vice-Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Film Writers and Critics Association.
