A director, born in Kairouan, Tunisia. He began writing, directing, and producing for cinema and television in 1960. He directed his first film The Hyena's Sun in 1977, and it was screened at the Cannes Festival in 1994, then presented many cinematic works that participated in many international festivals. He also has taught film directing at the Higher Institute of Cinema in Gammarth, Tunisia. Among his films are When Stars Fall (2010), and The Flower of Aleppo (2016).
