He is an Egyptian theater director and actor. He is considered one of the pioneers of theater directing in Egypt, especially in the sixties. He was born on 1913 in the city of Qena, and graduated from the Higher Institute of Theatrical Arts in 1947. He directed several plays that achieved great success, beginning with Beginning and End, until his last theatrical work The Sea Bird. In addition to his tangible talent in directing, he also had a talent in acting, as he starred in twenty plays, most notably the plays People of the Cave, and Dad Wants to Get Married. He was also one of the pioneers of radio, as he starred in no less than two thousand radio series. He participated in a few television series, most notably Muhammad: The Messenger of God. In the cinema, he acted in a number of films, perhaps the most famous of which is his role in The Land of Hypocrisy. He died in 1984 at the age of 72.
