He is a poet and composer of operettas, lyric plays, and keynotes, numbering to form twelve volumes. He is considered one of the most famous Egyptian colloquial poets. Among his works are the movie Prince of Revenge 1950] the movie Love and Revenge (1944), The Black Market (1945), and Raya and Sakina (1952).
