Egyptian writer and critic born on 5 July 1907 in Kafr Mandour, Minya El Qamh, Sharqia Governorate. He received his baccalaureate (high school diploma) in 1925 and his Bachelor's degree in Arts in 1929, and another Bachelor's degree in Law in 1930. He was hired as a teaching...Read more assistant at the Faculty of Arts and was sent to Paris in 1930 on a delegation and received diplomas in Greek studies and French Literature. He worked as a journalist in El Masry newspaper in 1944. He wrote the film Elham (1950). He was married to Egyptian poet Malak Abdel Aziz. He died on 19 May 1965 of liver disease.
