An Egyptian dancer born Laila El Sultan Abu El Ela in Alexandria. Her father worked as an oriental drummer in Alexandria then moved to Cairo where she began working at a nightclub and learned dancing. As a child, she was discovered by Youssef Wahby and introduced by him in the film Hour of Execution (1938). She began her acting career as an adult in the late 1950s and appeared in the film The Cabaret Street (1969). She died of a heart attack on 26 January 1972.
