Egyptian writer and author born on 23 March 1923. He was one of the most prominent writers in the genre of Realism in the 1950s-60s. He wrote in several magazines and newspapers including Sabah El Kheir, Rose Al Youssef, El Gomhoureya, and El Masaa. He was a member of the Writers Union, the Journalists Syndicate, and the Cairo Atelier. He was active in union and political work, and defended the toiling and the oppressed through his writings. He produced the film My Heart Loves You (1955) and wrote the film Forbidden Photos: First Story (Forbidden) (1972). He died on 21 February 2004.
