Egyptian writer and director born in 1919. He received a diploma in Sociology from Columbia University and studied filmmaking in New York. He started working in the film industry in 1948. His directorial debut was the film The Wedding Photo (1952), for which he won the Catholic Center annual award for Best Egyptian Film. He also co-wrote the films Unemployed (1955), and Watch Out for the Wallet (1949).
