An Iraqi singer, composer, and actor, born in Baghdad in 1935. In 1957, he graduated from the Baghdad Institute of Fine Arts Department of Music. He joined radio and television in the early sixties as a singer and composer. He was known for his quiet, beautiful voice and graceful style of performance. In the sixties, he participated in several cinematic films, most notably the musical movie The Path of Love (1966). He presented a beautiful group of songs with Madiha Wagdy. He devoted himself to composing around the mid-seventies and presented a group of immortal songs, such as "Saalt Annak". He composed the poem "Al Nakhla" (The Palm), which was his last work. He is known for the song “Rah Amooy W Ma Ashoofak Ya Iraq". He became known for discovering new talents. He immigrated from Iraq to Egypt in 2003 and is still residing in Cairo. He finished writing his memoirs that cover half a century in a book called "The Names Tunnel".
